Local 1004's goal is to fulfill the mission of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and increase our capacity to represent our members in the best possible manner by growing the union through organizing, effectively engaging in the political action process, and communicating with working families and our communities on matters of importance to them.

OBJECTIVE:     To develop and implement a structure through which we can set goals, plan for future

                          challenges, and advance the mission of the Union.

OBJECTIVE:     To grow our union through internal and external organizing and increase our capacity to

                          engage in coordinated union activities.

OBJECTIVE:     To better the lives of working women, men and families through the successful exercise of

                          AFSCME's political power.

OBJECTIVE:     To better communicate, both internally and externally, with our members and the general

                          public about matters of importance to the working women, men and families we represent.
